About Aris Veld

Aris Veld is a moving-image artist working with artificial intelligence as an artistic medium. His current practice centres on moving image and Alterphysical, an approach he has developed in which invisible social, psychological and ontological pressures become physical laws. These laws reshape the body, matter and space, giving material consequences to forces that ordinarily remain unseen.

His works unfold in familiar environments, where an ordinary gesture can set an impossible event in motion. Belief, memory, belonging and social pressure shape the physical conditions of a scene, affecting how bodies move, how materials behave and how people relate to their surroundings. Photographic detail gives these worlds the apparent credibility of everyday life. Within them, the impossible has weight, resistance and consequences.

Metamorphosis gives this inquiry a temporal dimension. Each transformation alters what a body can do and how it relates to its surroundings. As a new physical condition takes hold, its consequences develop through movement and duration. What happens to a body also changes the meaning of its gestures and its place within the scene.

Veld studied at Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Fine Arts in Izmir, Turkey. He has more than twenty years of experience in art direction and creative direction, alongside a background in experimental image-making and surreal digital art. He is the founder and creative director of BOLDMOONS, an independent creative studio, and a Creative Partner for Higgsfield and CapCut.
